How to Create an Effective Short-Term Marketing Campaign Using Balloons

Marketing events, such as trade fairs or exhibitions, require a little forethought in order to pull off with any success. It is important to create an eye-catching stall that will attract people to you. However, you also need to ensure that once people are there, that they stay long enough to learn something of the business, with the anticipated result that these people will remember the name of the business, so that the next time they need the services that you offer, your name is the first that springs to mind.

There are many ways in which you can attract people to your stall, but one of the most popular methods is using printed balloons. However, considering it is a popular method, you must ensure that your printed balloons stand out from the crowd. There are several ways to do this:

    * Choose balloons of non-standard shapes: the traditional, upside down teardrop, balloons are great, but they will not stand out if other exhibitors have the same shape. Rather, you should opt for something a little more interesting, such as a star shape or a heart shape.

    * Choose high quality balloons: people will be much more attracted to balloons of a high quality because they look better. Another reason for choosing high quality balloons is that the balloons will reflect on your business. Therefore, if you buy cheap balloons, people will think the company is cheap, and that perhaps the services/products they offer are cheap too. People will associate the balloons with your business, so be sure to choose those that reflect what you are trying to say. In general, the foil balloons are the better quality balloons.

    * Do something interesting with your balloons: most of the other stalls will simply have a bunch of balloons that they hand out, or that they use as decoration. You can hand out balloons too, but try to think out of the box also. Balloon sculptures are a great idea because you can design one that reflects what your business does. For example, if you are a printing and mailing house, you can design a sculpture to look like an envelope, with a stamp too. This will make your stall a focal point at the exhibition and draw people towards it.

    * Make it fun while promoting your business. You can be a little creative with your balloons and organise some kind of prize giving. For example, you can attach envelopes to the end of each balloon, with one envelope containing a winning ticket. People will want balloons just to see if they can win whatever prize you have on offer. Offer several prizes, one fun, such as a bottle of champagne or a weekend break, and another promotional, such as £100 discount on any of your services/products.
